i chose slde 5.
To figure out slide 5 just multply the amount of people and subs you need for 12 people by 10.

on the first slide,5/6 + 2/3 is larger than 2/3 + 3/4 because on 5/6 on a clock, each # in the numerator is 10 minutes. So 5x10=50 minutes.2/3 on a clock, each # in the numerator is 20 minutes, so 2x20= 40 minutes. Add 50 and 40 together will be 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Slide 6...How much subs for 60 ppl.
divide by 2 = 30, look in the sub paper with the tables, you need 90/4 subs or 22 1/4 subs, then you x2 the subs, so that's 180/4 or 45 subs.

I chose the first slide because it looks ez.
5/6 + 2/3 is bigger than 2/3 + 3/4.
Why?
For 5/6, if you multiply the 6 by 2, you get 12, and if you the same thing to the top u get 10. So its 10/12(5/6) which is 50 minutes on the clock.
2/3= 40 minutes because if u cut the clock into 3 pieces you get 40 mins
(1=20mins 2=40mins 3=60mins)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
2/3 is 40 minutes because it's up there. 3/4 is 45 minutes because if you cut it into 3 pieces you get 45.(1=15 2=30 3=45 4=1hour or 60)
5/6 + 2/3 > 2/3 + 3/4
90 minutes --85 minutes
1hour & 30 mins--1hour & 25 mins

1st slide.

5/6+2/3 is larger than 2/3+3/4
If you look at it in a clock...

5/6 = 50 minutes
+
2/3 = 40 minutes
= 90 minutes

and

2/3 = 40 minutes
+
3/4 = 45 minutes
= 85 minutes

90 is larger than 85.

i chose slide 1.

5/6 + 2/3 is bigger than 2/3 + 3/4 because 1/6 of 60 is 10 minutes so 10 times 5 is 50 and 1/3 of 60 is 20 minutes so 20 times 2 is 40 so 40 + 50 is 90 minutes or an hour and 30 minutes. And 1/3 is 20 minutes so times 20 by 2 and its equals 40 then add 3/4 which is 45 minutes because 1/4 is 15 minutes and then you have to times 15 by 3 so then 40 plus 45 equals 85 minutes or an hour and 25 minutes.

so an hour and 30 minutes is more than an hour and 25 minutes.

slide 2

3/10 + 1/3 < 3/5 + 1/6
38 min < 46 min
if you draw a clock , 3/10 is 18 min because 1/10 is 6 min . then add 1/3 which is 20 min.
18+20 = 38 min
for 3/5 + 1/6 i converted 3/5 into 6/10 (equivallent fractions) 6/10 = 36. 1/6 = 10 minutes.
36+10= 46

slide 1
2/3+3/4 < 5/6+2/3

well the second one is bigger because if you make a clock , 40 min(2/3)+45 min(3/4)= 1 hour 25 min or 85 min.
then the first on is 40 min(2/3)+50 min(5/6)
85 < 90

ps don't forget to sprinkle crutons on your salad

i chose slide 2

3/10 + 1/3 < 3/5 + 1/6

if you look at it as a clock ,
3/10 = 18 minutes
1/3 = 20 minutes

= 38 minutes

3/5 = 36 minutes
1/6 = 10 minutes

= 46 minutes
38 < 46

I chose slide 1...

2/3 + 3/4 5/6 + 2/3

I used a clock and I divided it into 3, and 1/3 of a clock is 20mins and I timed it by 2 to get 2/3, which is 40mins. I divided a clock into 4, and 1/4 of a clock is 15mins and I timed it by 3 to get 3/4, which is 45mins. So 2/3 (40mins) + 3/4 (45mins) which gives a total of 85/120.

I divided a clock into 6, and 1/6 of a clock is 10mins and I timed it by 5 to get 5/6, which is 50mins. I did the same as the first one and divided a clock into 3, and 1/3 of a clock is 20mins and I timed it by 2 to get 2/3, which is 40mins. So 5/6 (50mins) + 2/3 (40mins) which gives a total of 90/120.

5/6 + 2/3 is larger than 2/3 + 3/4 because 90 is larger than 85 and that’s how I got the answer.

slide 1:
2/3 + 3/4 > 5/6 + 2/3

2/3 + 3/4 is greater than 5/6 + 2/3 because, 2/3 on the clock is 40 minutes, and 3/4 is 45 minutes.
so:
2/3 (40 minutes) + 3/4 (45 minutes) = 85 minutes/1 hr 15 min.

5/6 on the clock is 50 minutes, and 2/3 on the clock is 20 minutes.
so:
5/6 (50 minutes) + 2/3 (20 minutes) = 70 minutes/1 hr 10 min. (7/6)

I chose to do slide number one. 2/3 + 3/4 = 1 5/12. First, you do 2/3, which means 60 minutes divided by 3. 60 divided by 3=20. 2 20's are 40. so 2/3=40. second, you have to do 3/4 which means 60 divided by 4. 60 divided by 4=15. 3 15's are 45. so 3/4 = 45. 45+40=1 hour and 25 minutes. then you have to do the second part of the question. 5/6 + 2/3 = 1 1/2. first, you do 5/6 which means that the clock has to be divided into 6 equal sections. each section would be 10 minutes each (10minutes x 6sections=1 house). 5 10's are 50 minutes, so 5/6 = 50 minutes. second, you do 2/3 which is 40 minutes. which means that you have to divide the clock into 3 equal sections of 20 minutes. 2 20's are 40. so 40+50=1 hour and 30 minutes. last step, is to determine which question is greater than the other. in this case, 1 hour and 30 minutes is greater than 1 hour and 25 minutes.

to figure out slide 5 i multiply the amount of people by 3 and then divided the answer by 4 and you get the anser

charity841 said...

For every person that you add you add 3 to the numerator and you leave the fiur as a four. And that is how you get your improper fraction. To get your proper fraction you just divde your numerator by your denomenator

Or to get your improper you could just multiply3 by the number of people and leave the four the same
