Jocelyne's First Growing Post

3.

4. 60 divided by 6 equals 10 minutes and 60 divided by 3 equals 30 minutes
add them together and you get 40 minutes. or 40/60
--------------------------------------------
60 divided by 12 equals 5 then you times 5 by 7 which equals 35 minutes and 60 divided by 4 equals 15 minutes.
add them together and you get 50 minutes or 50/60

the larger one is 50/60 or 7/12 + 1/4

Bike race by Joceyne and Chaseley

5.What me and chaseley did was that we divided how many kilometers that were in the race by how many kilometers where the resting points or food wagons and stuff were. And we marked the points and stations with different colours like juice and snacks were green and resting points were purple.

6. http://www.primarygames.com/fractions/1a.htm
What you have to do in this game is that you have to figure out how much of the pizza is left in fractions. What i think is good about this game is that you get to learn your fractions and its easy because you already know how do do it because its almost the same thing as doing the clock.

7. What I did to get a twelfth, sixth, and third in my bike race was I divided 60 by 12, 6, and 3 . The pattern I saw was that 12, 6, and 3 were just all multiples of eachother.

8. 16 : 1/4 of 16 is 4 because you have to divide the denominator which is 4 by 16 which equals 4. And you could double check by multiplying 4 by 4 and it will equal 16. Then 3/4 of 16 is 12 because since you already know what 1/4 of 16 is then you just have to multiply 4 by 3 because 4 is 1/4 of 16 then when you multiply it by the numerator of 3/4 then it gives you 3/4 of 16 which is 12.

9. 4/12 + 1/3 < 1/4 + 10/12

1/12 is 5 mins because 60 divided by 12 is 5 then you multiply 5 by 4 to get 4/12 which is 20 mins then you add 1/3 which is 20 mins because 60 divided by 3 equals 20 then you have to add 20mins + 20mins which is 40mins.

1/4 is 15 mins because 60 divided by 4 is 15 then you add 10/12 which is 50 because you divide 60 by 12 which is 5 then you times it by 10 to get 50mins. Then you add 15 and 50 which is 65 mins.

65 mins is larger than 40 mins.

I really liked how you explained your work word by word. It made me understand it better that way. One thing you could have done better was label your number 3 and 4 other than that you did a great job.
