I chose slide number 1 because i like it .
1 / 4 + 2 /4 is greater than 1 / 6 + 3 / 6 because if you draw a clock , 1 / 4 = 15 minutes ,
2 / 4 = 30 minutes .
So 10 + 30 = 40 minutes.
If you use the clock for the other one , 1 / 6 = 10 minutes , 3 / 6 = 30 minutes .
So 10 minutes + 30 minutes equals 40.
45 > 40

for slide 3 , my pattern was :
1 person 1 sub (3/4)1/4 left.
2 people 2 subs (3/4)2/4 left.
3 people 3 subs (3/4)3/4 left.
4 people 3 still because of the 3/4 last time
and so on.
the pattern would be
1 2 3 3 4 5 6 6 7 8 9 9 etc.

4 goes into 9 means =
4 divded by 9
{....}{....}. = 9
[ left to think ]

4 goes into 9 does not means =
9 divided by 4
4 + 9
[left to think again ] d:

I chose slide 2...
5/12+1/12 is greater than1/3+1/12 because if u draw a clock and divided it into 12 pieces equally it's goin to be 25 min.
Draw another clok and divide it 12 pieces again and shade 1 piece, it's goin to be 10 min. That's 35 min altogether.
1/3 of a clock is 20 minutes, divide a clock equally into 3 pieces. Draw 1 more clock and divide it equally into 12 pieces, its goin to be 10 minutes because there's 12 5 minutes in a clock.Equalls to 30 minutes...

For slide 3 i found a weird pattern...the number of people is multiplied by 3 the the answer is the numerator for the sub...
e.g. 2 people = 6/4 subs... the 2 is multiplied by 3 to form 6...

4 goes into nine means..
9 ÷ 4 or 4 x _= 9

4 goes into nine does not mean...
4 ÷ 9 or 4 x 2 + 1, 4 x 9 or 9 x 4 or 4 + 9, etc.

I chose slide # 1 because i like the challenging questions. 5/12 + 1/12 is greater than 1/3 + 1/12 because if u add 5/12 and 1/12 together u get 6/12. If u change 6/12 change to a similar fraction such as 1/2 it makes it easier because 1/2=30 minutes. 1/3 and 1/12 makes it difficult for some people to add, so u have to make 1/3 similar to 1/12. First, u divide 3 over 12, which equals to 4. Now times 3 and 4 to get 12. When u times the denominator by 4, u times the numerator by 4 too. Now add 4/12 and 1/12 to get 5/12. 5/12=25 minutes because 1=5 minutes each.

I chose slide 2 because theres big numbers on it.

5/12 + 1/12 is bigger than 1/3 + 1/12 because if you draw a clock, 5/12=25 minutes and 1/12= 5mins. If you add them up you get 30 minutes

1/3 is 20 minutes and 1/12= 5 minutes so, add them up and u get 25 minutes

5/12 + 1/12=30mins
1/13 + 1/12=25mins

Slide 3's pattern is:
if there was 1 person and 1 sub there would be 1 piece left since its cut into 3/4. 2people 2subs, there would be 2 pieces left, and so on. If there was 3/4 left those pieces are given to someone and you start cutting subs again.

Slide 4:
4 goes into 9 means...
4÷9=?
4 divided by 9=?

4 goes into 9 does not mean
9÷4=?
9 divided by 4=? because you start with 4 first, not 9

I chose slide number two.
5/12+1/12 is bigger than 1/3+1/12

if you look at it in a clock, 5/12 is 25 mins and 1/12 is 5 minutes, which equals 30 minutes.

1/3 + 1/12 is 25 minutes because 1/3 equals 20 minutes and 1/12 equals 5 minutes.

For slide three with the subs, i did it in percentages.
1Person : 75%
2people : 150%
3people : 225%
4people : 300%
5people : 375%
6people : 450%
7people : 525% and so on...

11people would get 825%

4 goes into means 4 divided by nine.
4 goes into 9 doesn't mean 9 divided by 4.

5/12+1/12 is bigger than 1/3+1/12

if you look at 5/12 in a clock, it 25 mins and 1/12 is 5 minutes, so it equals half a hour

1/3 + 1/12 is 25 minutes because 1/3 equals 20 minutes and 1/12 equals 5 minutes.

i chose slide number 1, 1/4 + 2/4 1/6 + 3/6
if u did this one on a clock
1/4 =15 mins
2/4 =30 mins
15 mins + 30 mins = 45 mins

1/6 =10 mins
3/6 =30 mins
30 mins + 10 mins = 40 mins
so that means that 1/4 plus 2/4 is bigger because 45 mins is longer then 40 mins.

for slide 3 my pattern was, it kept adding 3/4 of a sub everytime you added a person so because 10 subs equils 30/4 or 7 3/4 just add 3/4 to it again and it is 33/4 or 8 1/2

4 goes into 9 means 9 devided by 4

4 goes into 9 does not means 4 devided by 9

I chose slide number 1 because it looks more simpler .
1/4 + 2/4 is greater than 1/6 + 3/6 because if you draw a circle , cut it in half & shade in one side , that would be 30 minutes (which is 2/4) and if you draw another circle into 4 pieces and shade in one of the four , that would be 15 minutes (which is 1/4) So if you add 15 + 30 it would add up to 45 minutes .

For 1/6 + 3/6 , you just draw a clock again . 3/6 is equal to 1/2 so you divide the clock into half again , then for 1/6 its more complicated because you cant really divide a clock into 3 equal pieces . well you can , but its not efficient . Anyways , to find out how to figure out 1/6 , you have to think about time again .

1 x 10
6 x 10
= 10/60

you times 10 because 10 x 6 equals to 60 minutes , which is an hour . & whatever you do to the numerator you do the same thing to the denominator . So that means that 1/6 equals to 10 minutes . So 10 + 30 = 40 minutes , which is smaller than 45 minutes .

For slide 3 , my pattern was :
that you just multiply the numerator by 3 and just stay with the same denominator , because I found that it took too much time doing the pattern : 3/4 , 1 1/2 , etc.

4 goes into 9 means ..
4 divided by 9

4 goes into 9 does not mean ...
doesn't mean 9 divided by 4

I choose 1/4+2/4 < 1/6+3/6

1/6 + 3/6 is greater because if you do the greater common way then it will equal 4/6and 1/4+2/4 will equal 3/4 and 4/6 is greater than 3/4

slide 1: 1/4 + 2/4 , 1/6 + 3/6

using the clock method, 1/4 equals 20 minutes & 2/4 equals 40 minutes (2/4 is just doubled of 1/4).
so ..
1/4 (20 min.) + 2/4 (40 min.) = 60 minutes (1 whole)
using the clock method again, 1/6 is 10 minutes and 3/6 is 30 minutes.
so ..
10 minutes (1/6) + 30 minutes (3/6) = 40 minutes.
1/4 + 2/4 is greater than 1/6 + 3/6

slide 3
PATTERN:
for the number of subs, i just increased the number by 3's, and for the denominator, i increased the number by 4's

e.g: numerator: 3, denominator: 4.
numerator: 1 - 3 , 2 - 6, 3 - 9 , 4 -12 ,etc.
denominator: 1 - 4 , 2 - 8, 3 - 12, 4 - 16 ,etc.

the pattern i found from the number of people there are, to the numerator/denominator is that, for the numberator, (1-3, difference is 2) the difference is always increasing by 1, same with the denominator.

4 goes into 9:
4 divided by 9
4 over 9 (fraction)

4 does NOT go into 9:
9 divided by 4
9 over 4 (fraction)

Slide One :

To use the Clock method you look at how you can divide it evently 1/4 is 15 minutes on a clock so 2/4 would be 30 mins ( double 1/4) so intotal that would be 45/60 (9/12)

1/6 of a clock would be ten minutes and three sixths would be 30 minutes so in total that would be 40 minutes = 40/60 or 2/3 which is less than 9/12

four goes into nine is 9 /4
Foru goes into nine is not 4/9
