What patterns do you see in this string. Describe how you see in this string. Can you find 3 or more?

Todays test asked 1/2 +1/3 does not equal 2/5. What evidence did you use to convince me?

Question #1: the pattern is that in every question it's always 1 over something for example (1/2,1/3,1/4,ect.)

Question 2: I used pictures of rectangles and decimal/money
and i made equivalent fractions

As Alex has said, the numerators are all 1

And, the numbers all end up repeating themselves at some point.

Question 2: I convinced it in words and numbers of the equation I showed in words.

Question 2: i use decimals for the question 1/2+1/3 is not equil to 2/5. I also said how 1/2 is already bigger then 2/5 so that means that if you were to add more to 1/2 it would still end up bigger.

Some patterns i see are,,

-the denominators in the first three keep doubling but they dont go up in size and the answer goes down
-All Numerators are One

the patterns that i see are that all the numerators are one. also, that are asking for something of 24.

the patterns i see are that the numeratos are always 1 and in the first 3 fractions the denominators are doubling.

The pattern that i see is that you always divide the denomenator of the fraction by in how many peices it is in
