Robbie's Pythagoras Growing Post

Part One

the ones that are checked marked are the ones that go together.

Part Two:

Part Three:

You're locked out of your house and the only open window is on the second floor, 25ft above the ground. You need to borrow a ladder from one of your neighbours. There's a bush along side the edge of the house, so you'll have to place the ladder 10ft from the house. What length of ladder do you need to reach the window?

1.The Window is 25 ft above the ground.
2.The Bush is near the edge of the house and you will have to place the ladder 10 ft from the house.
3.You have lean the ladder on an angle to get it to the house.

Part Four:

Now that you have seen many Pythagorean problems, create your own word problem.

A little kid went to buy food from Foodland which was 9 miles north from his house and after he was done he went home. After he had enough money to buy a candy he loved so he rode his bike to the corner store to buy one which was 16 miles east from his house. If the little kid rode straight to the corner store after he shopped at Foodland, how far would he have road his bike?
