Jordan's scribe.

Today in class, Mr.J thought us how to find a surface area of a box. And the box we smashed it and opened it. Together there were 6 pieces in total(1 front, 1 back, 1 top, 1 bottom, and 2 sides.)

He thought us how to do find the area of the shape.

Shawn's Pythagoras Post

The Theorem is a2+b2=c2. This triangle here has two legs (a and b), and one hypotenuse (C). The theorem states that when you add a and b together, you get C. This makes a right angle triangle.

Coaster's pythagoras growing post

Part 1 Describe what a Pythagorean Triple is and use your perfect square chart from 1 squared to 10 squared to find another one other than 3,4,5. (Note: You need a picture, not simply text.)
Here is my picture:

Part 2
Using embeddable web 2.0, describe how to find the missing side of a Right Triangle using the Pythagorean Theorem, show how to solve both for a missing leg and the hypotenuse (note: you may use numerical examples ie. a=4 b=6 c=?)

Parts 2

Robbie's Pythagoras Growing Post

Part One

the ones that are checked marked are the ones that go together.

Part Two:

Part Three:

You're locked out of your house and the only open window is on the second floor, 25ft above the ground. You need to borrow a ladder from one of your neighbours. There's a bush along side the edge of the house, so you'll have to place the ladder 10ft from the house. What length of ladder do you need to reach the window?

1.The Window is 25 ft above the ground.
2.The Bush is near the edge of the house and you will have to place the ladder 10 ft from the house.
3.You have lean the ladder on an angle to get it to the house.

Part Four:

Now that you have seen many Pythagorean problems, create your own word problem.

A little kid went to buy food from Foodland which was 9 miles north from his house and after he was done he went home. After he had enough money to buy a candy he loved so he rode his bike to the corner store to buy one which was 16 miles east from his house. If the little kid rode straight to the corner store after he shopped at Foodland, how far would he have road his bike?

Jordan's Pythagoras Growing Post

Part 1

Describe what a Pythagorean Triple is and use your perfect square chart from 1 squared to 10 squared to find another one other than 3,4,5.

What is a Pythagorean Triple?
-A Pythagorean Triple is a theory that states that the two side lengths of a right angle triangle added together equals the hypotenuse. A² + B² = C²

When you look at the chart, you have to find which two perfect squares added together will equal another perfect square. You can find that 6² + 8² = 10².

Part 2

Part 3

You're locked out of your house and the only open window is on the second floor, 25ft above the ground. You need to borrow a ladder from one of your neighbors. There's a bush along side the edge of the house, so you'll have to place the ladder 10ft from the
house. What length of ladder do you need to reach the window?

Part 4

The Celtics on a road trip. First they're at Dallas, then they drive 8 miles down the road to Houston, then after they go to San Antonio. Finally they need to go back to Dallas from San Antonio. How long is the trip from San Antonio to Dallas?

Joelle's Pythagoras Growing Post
Part 1
A Pythagoras Triple is where three perfert squares connect to make a right triangle.

A and B are the legs of the triangle and when you add both them together are added together they equal c which is the hypotenuse of the triangle.
A²+B²=C² is an equation to find C². Part 2

Part 3

Mr. H jumped into a canoe to cross a river that runs east to and is 20m wide. The current carried him downstream 8m before he reached the other side. How far did he traval in total?

Part 4

If you throw a ball on a wall that is 10m high, you are 6 meters away, and you release the ball 3 meters away from the ground. How far do you have to throw the ball to get it to the top of the wall?

Part 1:Describe what a Pythagorean Triple is and use your perfect square chart from 1 squared to 10 squared to find another one other than 3,4,5. (Note: You need a picture, not simply text.)

The Pythagorean Theroem is: A2 + B2 = C2. so this Pythagorean is like: The Left square is A2, the bottom square is B2, and C2 is the square on the right. And all of this shows a right triangle. So thats the Pythagorean Triple and some of this tells about the Theroem
